When you think in pictures, your thought is concretized and so is much more easily received by the person or situation you want to either help or appreciate.
When you think in pictures, instead of words, you make a strong right-left brain connection.
It’s really true that sometimes words get in the way, so I like to get them out of the way a lot of the time!
Each of your brain hemisphere’s do have specific functions but, the hemisphere also support each other in very important ways. Your brain functions optimally when both hemisphere’s are being used cooperatively. (I’m talking about a healthy, non-injured brain here).
Here’s what you can do to use both sides of your brain – your complete power. Quickly go over the details of what you want, or what you appreciate, then think about it, express it to yourself in words, then, let the words go; let them form into a picture of what you’re saying to yourself. With an imagined pop or thrust, send your picture off to the atmosphere, leaving the words behind. The words just get in the way and can easily be misinterpreted.
This is a short version of what you do when you meditate to program a particular outcome. The thing to remember is to do this kind of thinking in all kinds of every day moments.
Make your pictures simple, easy to remember and ones that you enjoy,
- Do you see a tree that you appreciate? Say that to yourself and then picture yourself hugging it or caressing it, see it growing in strength as you touch it.
- Do you see a group of people doing something that pleases you? Say that to yourself and then picture a beautiful cloud above them spreading blessings on them.
- Do you see something that displeases you? Say to yourself what you’d prefer and picture the situation changing – without intervention from you.
- Are you approaching an event that you want to go well? Say to yourself what you want and then picture that.
Oh, there’s a lot more that can be said about this, but for now, give it a try & maybe let me know how it is working for you.
